Have you ever wondered what to do when you are all excited about certain things happening in your life or around you and then all of sudden something bad happens? I know the feeling, its like taking two steps forward and then four steps backwards and the you think and ask God why?. It is not easy I will tell you that nor is it easy to keep the right attitude or totally let go and give it all to God.

About two weeks ago, I got some news that got me so shaken and I was almost feeling discouraged. This is because up on until then I was all on cloud nine of the blessings that God has shown me and my family but then getting that news was so heart wrenching. In that moment all I could think of was the story of Job in the bible who went through a much difficult time than anyone could ever imagine and then I encouraged myself in God knowing that everything will be fine. What also helped me maintain this attitude of faith was the quality of beautiful minded and Godly friends and family that I had asked to join me in prayers for the situation to change.

So in order to maintain your excitement in Christ you have to make sure you surround yourself with kingdom minded friends and family. Friends who are sensitive enough to ask you what is going on and not only encourage you, but pray along with you and believe things to change during this process. This is an enough reassurance of God's love shown through them. Now if you don't currently have this type of friends I ask that you seek God's face to help you find one or two that can help you in prayers, because it will help you spiritually and you can in turn help each other by praying for each other and encourage each other.

Another way to maintain your excitement is to keep your focus on God, trust in him to make things better and be patient in the process. Job 13 verse 15 " Though he slay me yet I will trust him " Trusting and believing God daily brings this refreshing feeling that is indescribable and you can be rest assured that when accompanied with patience it brings results in the Long run. Job did this and though he lost everything, had boils and all he still maintained his trust in God and he was patient to receive that great reward in the end which was way more than what he had initially. God is never late, he is always on time so trust him and be patient with him to bring you through.

Worship is also a way to maintain our excitement in Christ. By worshiping God you are letting the devil know that he doesn't have the upper hand God does! . To be honest it might not be the easiest thing to do when you've just gotten a discouraging news, but taking time to gradually do this brings peace of mind and you can trust God to come through. This was how I felt two weeks ago, I felt so down but after praying for God to give me the strength to trust him the worship came flowing and I tell you the peace of mind I had after was amazing. I encourage you to try this anytime you're going through a difficult situation, and you will come out you chest high, filled with confidence and boldness from God.
