It is so easy to get wrapped up in our own problems, that we fail to notice that people around us are going through something much serious than ours. The last few weeks a lot of things have happened around the world, like young boys trapped in a cave with their coach in Thailand, Volcanic eruption in Hawaii etc. These situations made me realize that whatever my problems were these people were faced with even more grave situations and I needed to pray for them and ask for God's Guidance for them, and I'm glad I did.

We ought to ask God for grace daily to be able to pray for others. It is one thing I have tried to do daily and I am still learning how to do it with God's help. When we intercede or pray for others it strengthens and deepens our faith in God, we get closer to Him and He reveals things to us. As a young lady asking God for a spouse, you should not just ask God for that handsome tall husband, pray for His family, His Job, His cares and wants. This Job of intercession will not stop when you are married because responsibilities increase; you will have children, your children will have friends etc. so you will need to pray for them and their friends, their teachers etc.

When we take time to pray for others we are expressing God's love to them, it also helps us take our minds off our own problems. I have experienced this first hand; there was a time my younger brother was going through a difficult situation and He had asked me to keep him in my prayers, and I did. At the time I had somethings that was weighing on my mind, I made up my mind to intensify the prayers for my brother, God answered my prayer for Him and he gave me breakthrough for my own situation. Praying for others shows that’s we are not selfish or self absorbed. Philippians 2:3-4-NIV " Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

There are many examples in the bible where people interceded for others and God answered. Moses prayed for Miriam's healing in the book of Numbers; Numbers 12:13-NIV "So Moses cried out to the lord, please God heal her" . When we read further we see that God answered and she was healed after seven days. Let us try this out this week pick a friend or family member that is going through a tough situation, pray for them and lets see God work wonders in turning things around.
