I Will Connect

A New year brings new things, new expectations, dreams and desires. Its also a time to set goals and make changes wherever possible. This year my main goal is to spend more time with God personally more than I did last year. Connecting with God has always been important for me because that’s how I feel secure and safe knowing that God cares for me.

In December of 2017 I gave birth to my handsome son Micah, and after delivery I started to think of how the year 2018 will be for me especially now that I'm a parent. Most people will tell you how being a parent is very tasking and you almost don't have time for yourself and its true. So I told myself even if I don't get time for myself like I used to, I still want my relationship with God to be so deep and in turn be an example for my son. Now amidst the many diaper changes, 3 am feedings- though its not easy I have been able to devote at least 15 minutes daily to a quiet time with God.

Many of us experience changes in our lives at some point, or we claim we are too busy that we neglect our intimacy with God. In our time of waiting we spend more time with God, but once we receive our miracle we forget God. We make him second place forgetting that it was God who brought us the miracle. As a single person, married, young, old we ought to make sure that nothing can break our connection with God. As a single person waiting on God for your spouse, a deeper fellowship with God daily should be what will attract your future spouse the most not just your beauty.

There are lots of benefits in connecting with God daily, and one that I've found in my walk with God is no matter how your day might go either good or bad there is always peace within. Philippians 4 verse 7 (NIV)" And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus". This peace supersedes every worry or anxiety you have, and you are rest assured that God is watching over you and he cares for you.

Another benefit, is that it makes you strong and fearless. Psalms 112 verse 6-8 (NIV)"Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. This scripture says it all! so let us determine to stay connected to God daily, study the word and meditate on it that way you can become strong and fearless.
